Life on Stage Theatre (LOST)

LOST is a student theatre group at MIT that produces contemporary plays accessible for free to the Cambridge community. We support individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced thespians, and we aim to uplift performing artists and creative designers who want to bring stories to life!

Fall 2025

Moonchildren

It's 1965. The upheavals of the decade (complete with political, musical, & social cataclysms) have just begun to boil over. Classes have just begun for eight college students who live together in an attic apartment, grappling with uncertainties the draft poses on their lives, surprise encounters with people in the neighborhood, and what to do with their growing stash of milk bottles.
Spring 2025

Those Who Tried to Touch the Sky

An Original LOST play written by our very own Kat Chan('26)! Elle and Fritz are the heirs of the seemingly untouchable Kumo-Ochmann family. At their annual Thanksgiving dinner-turned-gala, they pretend they are able to leave all these worries outside, swapping whispers of scandal and exploitation for placecards and hors d'oeuvres.
Fall 2024

The Pillowman

Katurian, a fiction writer living in a police state, is brought into custody regarding the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a number of child murders occurring in his town. When his mentally impaired brother is taken into custody, Katurian must decide how best to protect himself, his brother, and his stories.
Spring 2024

The Importance of Being Earnest

When Jack Worthing decided to invent a wicked younger brother called Ernest (and then assume his identity while away from home), he could never have imagined the web of love, miscommunication, and food he would be caught in.
Fall 2023

Stupid Fucking Bird

What could possibly go wrong when a nepo-baby playwright, his self-absorbed mother, an aspiring actress with wandering eyes, an arrogant author, a musician with unrequited feelings, a muffin enthusiast with unrequited feelings, and good ol' Uncle Sorn all spend the summer together under one roof? The better question is could anything possibly go right?
Spring 2023

Anon(ymous)

Anon, a young refugee, searches for some semblance of home and his mother, Nemasani, whom he was separated from long ago. Journeying across a threat-filled America, he faces murderous one-eyed butchers, alluring dive bars, drugged-out Shadows, and the constant threat of authorities, but he also finds friends in unexpected places and unlooked-for serendipity.
Fall 2022

Small Mouth Sounds

In the overwhelming quiet of the woods, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect.
